  • Your one year of YouTube Premium ends one calendar year from the date that you start YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
  • At the end of one year, your subscription automatically renews into an individual monthly YouTube Premium subscription at its regular price until you cancel YouTube Premium.
  • Once you start your year of YouTube Premium on Google Fi, you or your Google Fi group owner can opt out of the renewal or cancel your subscription at any time.

Check your eligibility

Fi subscribers on the Unlimited Plus plan are eligible for this offer. Subscribers must maintain active service on Unlimited Plus over the course of the year.

You can’t start your year of YouTube Premium on Fi if:

  • You’re under the age of 13.
  • You’re on a Google Workspace account that has YouTube blocked.

Tip: You can check your YouTube Premium subscription status.

If you have a current YouTube Premium subscription, learn how to manage your subscription.

Start your year of YouTube Premium on Fi

Each member must start their year of YouTube Premium on Fi themselves.

To start your year of YouTube Premium on Fi:

  1. On your device, go to fi.google.com/account#plan.
  2. Go to your Member Profile.
  3. In the “Devices & Subscriptions” list, select YouTube Premium.
  4. Select Get started.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts.

Once you start your year of YouTube Premium on Fi, you can manage your YouTube Premium access at fi.google.com/account#plan.

Change your YouTube Premium renewal

When your year of YouTube Premium on Fi is over, your subscription automatically renews as an individual monthly YouTube Premium subscription at the regular rate. You can find your Youtube Premium subscription on your monthly Fi bill.

Fi members and plan managers can deactivate or reactivate this renewal selection:

  1. On your device, go to fi.google.com/account#plan.
  2. Select a Fi member’s profile.
  3. In the “Devices & Subscriptions” list, select YouTube Premium.
  4. Select Do not renew or Renew at the end of your year.

When you change your renewal selection, you don’t affect the terms of your year of YouTube Premium.

Fi members can deactivate their own renewal, but can’t reactivate renewals. Fi plan managers can deactivate or reactivate renewals for plan members.

End your YouTube Premium subscription

To end your year of YouTube Premium on Fi, contact Fi support. When you end your year, you give up the time you have left in your year of YouTube Premium.

Manage your YouTube Premium subscription

Change or pause your Fi plan

You can switch plans once a month, as many times as you want, on Fi.

YouTube Premium becomes unavailable if you:

  • Switch from the Unlimited Plus plan to the Simply Unlimited or Flexible plan.
  • Pause your Unlimited Plus plan.

YouTube Premium becomes available again when you resume active service on the Unlimited Plus plan.

Your one year of YouTube Premium subscription ends one year from the day that you start the service on Google Fi. If you pause or switch your plan in the one-year period, this end date still applies.

Manage an existing YouTube Premium subscription

Once you start your one year of YouTube Premium on Google Fi, any existing YouTube Premium Individual subscription billed directly by Youtube automatically transfers to Fi. YouTube will no longer charge you.

If you have an individual YouTube Premium subscription that another Google service or another company bills:

  • You can start your year of YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
  • Your existing YouTube Premium subscription does not change.

To avoid double billing on YouTube Premium in your year of YouTube Premium on Fi, you should cancel any other YouTube Premium subscriptions.

If you're an existing YouTube Premium subscriber:

  • You can save your YouTube Premium music library and playlists.
    • Your library and playlists remain available no matter the changes to your subscription.
  • You may not get certain YouTube Premium rates and discounts at the end of your year of YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
  • You can’t get a refund for any unused portion of subscriptions once your year of YouTube Premium on Fi begins.
    • Tip: You can cancel your subscription’s renewal and start your year on Fi at the end of your current subscription

YouTube Premium is shared with you by a family member

If a family member shares YouTube Premium with you:

  • You can still start your one year of YouTube Premium on Fi.
  • You stay a member of your Google Family and all shared Google services stay shared with you.
  • Your YouTube Premium subscription transfers to Fi once you start your year of YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
  • Your Google Family members can continue to use the YouTube Premium subscription.

Manager of a YouTube Premium Family subscription

The manager of a YouTube Premium Family subscription must cancel that Family subscription before they begin their one year of YouTube Premium on Google Fi.

When you cancel your Family subscription:

  • Any family members that you share YouTube Premium with lose YouTube Premium.
  • Your account saves your YouTube Premium music library and playlists.
    • These libraries and playlists stay available no matter what subscription changes you make.
  • Rates and discounts that apply to YouTube Premium subscriptions may not be available at the end of your year of YouTube Premium.
  • You can’t get a refund for any unused part of your regular YouTube Premium subscription once you start your year of YouTube Premium on Fi.
    • Tip: You can cancel your subscription’s renewal and start your year on Fi at the end of your current subscription.

YouTube Premium on Pixel Pass

If you’re a Pixel Pass subscriber, you already have YouTube Premium as part of Pixel Pass.

You can start your year of YouTube Premium on Google Fi at the end of your Pixel Pass subscription period.
