Important:

  • To subscribe to YouTube Premium, iPhone and iPad users must use a web or mobile browser. They can't sign up on the Google Fi iOS app. Users who sign up for Unlimited Plus receive an email from Google Fi. Use the link in that email to sign up.
  • If iPhone and iPad users can't find the email, on a browser, they can sign in to fi.google.com. Then to subscribe to YTP, they can use their Google Fi username and password.

Each member must start their 6 months of YouTube Premium on Google Fi themselves.

To start your 6 months of YouTube Premium on Google Fi:

  1. On your device, go to fi.google.com/account#plan.
  2. Go to your Member Profile.
  3. In the “Devices & Subscriptions” list, select YouTube Premium.

Manage your YouTube Premium subscription

Change or pause your Google Fi plan

You can switch plans once a month, as many times as you want, on Google Fi.

YouTube Premium becomes unavailable if you:

  • Switch from the Unlimited Plus plan to the Simply Unlimited or Flexible plan.
  • Pause your Unlimited Plus plan.

YouTube Premium becomes available again when you resume active service on the Unlimited Plus plan.

Your 6 months of YouTube Premium subscription ends half a year from the day that you start the service on Google Fi. If you pause or switch your plan in the six-month period, this end date still applies.

Manage an existing YouTube Premium subscription

Once you start your YouTube Premium on Google Fi, any existing YouTube Premium Individual subscription billed directly by YouTube automatically transfers to Google Fi. YouTube will no longer charge you.

If your current YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium subscription is billed through another platform like Apple Billing or Google Play Billing:

  • You can start your YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
  • Your existing YouTube Premium subscription does not change.
  • To avoid double billing in your YouTube Premium on Google Fi, you should cancel any other YouTube Premium subscriptions.

If you're an existing YouTube Premium subscriber:

  • You can save your YouTube Premium music library and playlists.
    • Your library and playlists remain available no matter the changes to your subscription.
  • You may not get certain YouTube Premium rates and discounts at the end of your YouTube Premium subscription on Google Fi.
  • You can’t get a refund for any unused portion of subscriptions once your YouTube Premium on Google Fi begins.
    • Tip: You can cancel your subscription’s renewal and start your YouTube Premium on Google Fi at the end of your current subscription

YouTube Premium is shared with you by a family member

If a family member shares YouTube Premium with you:

  • You can still start your 6 months of YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
  • You stay a member of your Google Family and all shared Google services stay shared with you.
  • Your YouTube Premium subscription transfers to Google Fi.
  • Your Google Family members can continue to use the YouTube Premium subscription.

Manager of a YouTube Premium Family subscription

The manager of a YouTube Premium Family subscription must cancel that Family subscription before they begin their YouTube Premium on Google Fi.

When you cancel your Family subscription:

  • Any family members that you share YouTube Premium with lose YouTube Premium.
  • Your account saves your YouTube Premium music library and playlists.
    • These libraries and playlists stay available no matter what subscription changes you make.
  • Rates and discounts that apply to YouTube Premium may not be available at the end of your subscription.
  • You can’t get a refund for any unused part of your regular YouTube Premium subscription once you start your subscription of YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
    • Tip: You can cancel your subscription’s renewal and start your YouTube Premium on Google Fi at the end of your current subscription.

These YTP monthly charges are billed at $13.99 USD per user through Google Fi.

If you’re interested in a YouTube Premium Family plan, you can enroll in one for up to 5 members for $22.99 USD per month. To start a YouTube Premium Family plan, members on your group plan must live in the same household, and be in the same Google Family group.
