Linking individual slides to a Google Slide presentation

I am following Alice Keeler's directions to insert a link to a Collaborative slide presentation. When testing this out the link from the individual slide URL I copied will not work. Is there a step I am missing? I can link anything else to the assignment just not the URL from the individual slide.

Hello Diane,

Each slide in a Google Slide Presentation has it's own URL ID.

What you have to do is open the Google Slide Presentation.

Click on the slide you want to link to copy the URL from the address bar and paste it where you want to use the link.

This will open the Google Slide Presentation to this specific slide.

If this isn't what you are looking to do then please provide me with more details.

I'm more than happy to assist you.

Best,

Ms. Drasby

Hi,
I was using this tutorial from Alice Keeler. It did not work.

When I attempt to open file from my test student in my class it won't open.

Any help in solving this would be great. It would be awesome to use this feature with a large class.

HI,
I Just did another search on her tutorials. To make this work, now the students have to shorten the URL. Once that is done it does work. Very neat tutorial on creating a collaborative slide project. Once the kids link their slide to google classroom it will now open their google classroom assignment directly to the slide they are working on. Nice!
