Grade with a rubric
To use rubrics, you need to sign up for the beta program. To learn more, go to Sign up for Classroom beta programs.
In Classroom, you can use a rubric to grade and give feedback.
Once you’ve selected rubric ratings or entered rubric points while grading, you can’t edit or delete the assignment's rubric.
See a rubric while grading

On a computer, go to classroom.google.com.

Click the class
Classwork.

Click the assignment
View Assignment
the student’s file.
The file opens in the Classroom grading tool. - In the right column, click Grading
.
- To expand or collapse a criterion’s description, click the Down arrow
or Up arrow
.
Select a rating for each criterion
The rubric score automatically updates as you select performance levels.

The file opens in the Classroom grading tool. - In the right column, click Grading
.
- To assign a rubric level for each criterion, choose one:
- Click a rating level for each criterion.
- If you’re using the criterion for scoring, enter a number.
- Click a rating level for each criterion.
Manually change the total grade
Rubric grades aren’t automatically added to the grade field.

.
- Under Grade, enter the rubric's total score or an adjusted score for the assignment.
