Call notifications aren't working

If you're not getting call notifications or they’re delayed, try these tips to fix the problem.

Try common fixes

  • Re-open the app: To start Duo again, quit and re-open the app.
  • Download the latest version of the app: Check that you have the latest version of Duo from the app store. If you don't, the app page will say, "Update."
  • Connect to Wi-Fi: If you're using Wi-Fi instead of mobile data, make sure your Wi-Fi is on.
    1. Open your device's Settings Settings
    2. Turn on Wi-Fi.

If you need more tips, try these:

Turn on Duo notifications
  1. Open your device's Settings Settings
  2. Tap Notifications and then  Duo.
  3. Turn on Allow notifications.
  4. Tap Alerts
Check blocked numbers
Check that the phone number isn't blocked.
  1. Open Duo and then More More and then Settings and then Blocked numbers.
  2. Check that the phone number isn't listed.
Turn off "Do not disturb"
Swipe up from the bottom of your screen and check that you don't have “Do not disturb” on.
Allow Duo to work in the background
To send you notifications, Duo needs to be on in the background. 
  1. Open your device's Settings Settings
  2. Tap Duo  and then Turn on Cellular data.
