Fix missing or delayed call notifications

If you're not getting call notifications or they’re delayed, try these tips to fix the problem.

Try common fixes

If you’re using Duo for web:

Check your internet connection: Make sure your computer is connected to the internet.

If you're using Duo on a Chromebook:

Turn on Duo notifications

To receive Duo notifications on your computer, give notification permission to Duo in your browser settings.

For Chrome:

  1. In the top right of your browser, click More More and then Settings.
  2. In the search menu, enter “Notifications.”
  3. Click Content settings and then Notifications Notifications.
  4. Next to “Allow,” click Add.
  5. Enter duo.google.com.
  6. Click Add.

If you’re using a different browser, check their website for instructions:

Check blocked numbers
  1. On your computer, go to duo.google.com.
  2. In the top right, click Settings Settings and then Blocked users.
  3. Check if the number is blocked:
    • To unblock a number, click Remove Close.

Try more fixes for a Chromebook

Turn on Duo notifications

  1. Open your device's Settings Settings.
  2. Select Google Play Store and then Manage Android preferences and then Apps and then Duo and then Notifications.
  3. If notifications are off, turn them on.
  4. Open Duo and then More More and then Settings and then Notifications.
  5. If Call notifications are off, turn them on.

Check blocked numbers

  1. On your Chromebook, open Duo.
  2. At the top right, select More More and then Settings and then Blocked numbers.
  3. Check that the phone number isn't blocked.
