Manage Floodlight instructions

Create a Floodlight instruction

Only an agency manager or advertiser manager can add, edit, or remove a Floodlight instruction. Learn more about agency managers and other user types in Search Ads 360.

We recommend a maximum of 100 Floodlight instructions per advertiser.

  1. Navigate to an advertiser.

Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click Advertiser settings.

Don't see Advertiser settings? Only Search Ads 360 agency managers or advertiser managers can see Advertiser settings in the left navigation panel.

  3. Click the Floodlight▼ tab and select Floodlight instructions.
The current Floodlight instructions for the advertiser appear.

  4. Click + Floodlight instruction, which appears above the reporting table.

  5. Select Floodlight activities to manage:
    • All Floodlight activities: Manages all Floodlight activities in the advertiser.
    • Floodlight activity group: Manages all Floodlight activities in a group you specify.
    • Floodlight activity: Manages a specific Floodlight activity.
  6. Select a Floodlight instruction type and enter the relevant properties.
Note that you can only apply an Floodlight instruction type once per level, so some instruction types may not be available. For example, if you've already created a Conversion ID source instruction for All Floodlight activities, you can't create another Conversion ID source instruction for All Floodlight activities. You can create a Conversion ID source instruction for a specific activity or activity group. The lower-level instruction overrides the higher-level instuction.

  7. Click Save.
Search Ads 360 adds the Floodlight instruction to the table.

The instruction is applied to new conversions going forward. In some situations (for example, data reprocessing), Search Ads 360 might also apply the instruction to conversions that occurred in the past.
