Delete your Google Account

Instructions for deleting a Google Account are posted in the Google Accounts help center.

What happens to Google Drive data

If you delete your Google Account, you'll no longer have access to Google Drive. You'll also lose any preferences and data associated with your Google Account for other services, including your Gmail account.

When an account is deleted, all files, folders, and Google Docs owned by that account will no longer be accessible by collaborators and viewers. Learn how to assign a new owner before deleting your account.

Recover files from your Google Drive folder

If you've installed Google Drive for your Mac/PC, you'll be able to recover files and folders from your computer's trash. Google Docs, however, will no longer be accessible.

Delete a Google Apps account

If you use Google Apps, your administrator is the only person who can delete your account. If you experience any difficulties with your accounts, please contact your Google Apps administrator.
