Use Google Domains to create websites or connect to your current Google Sites account.
Create a site
- On your computer, go to Google Domains.
- Click the domain name you want to manage.
- Open the Menu

- Click Website
Build website.
- Under "Simple site," click Continue.
- Click Start new site.
Important: If there’s a domain name system (DNS) conflict, you'll get a notification. Otherwise, Google Domains defaults to "www" and redirects the root domain. To use a subdomain to specify a different fully qualified domain name (FQDN), open the DNS page. Then, delete the conflicted DNS settings
Connect to a Google Site
Tip: If you previously created your Google Site through Google Domains, your site’s already connected.
Important: Before you connect your Google Site, make sure you use the same account for both Google Domains and Google Sites.
- On your computer, go to Google Domains.
- Click the domain name you want to manage.
- Open the Menu

- Click Website
Build website.
- Under "Simple site," click Continue.
- Click Use existing site.
- Enter the subdomain you want to use.
- Select the Google Site you want connected to your domain.
- If you only want to connect the full site name that starts with "www," uncheck the option to redirect the entire root domain to your Google Site.
- Click Connect site.
Convert your classic Google Sites
If you use a classic Google Sites, convert from classic Sites to the new Sites then follow the preceding instructions.
Use Google Workspace
To map a URL to your Google Site for use in Google Workspace, create a CNAME record in Google Domains. To create a CNAME record:
- Sign in to Google Domains.
- Select your domain.
- Open the Menu
click DNS.
- Scroll to “Custom resource records.”
- In the “@” field, enter the subdomain, such as, “www.”
- Inside the “A” field, click the Down arrow
CNAME.
- In the “Domain name” field, enter “GHS.GOOGLEHOSTED.COM.”
- Click Add.
- Follow the steps to assign a URL to a site.
