Try the new presenter view popup

We are using chromeboxes and chrome sign builder to present some content on TV's, and today we are having problems with the "Try the new Presenter view" blue popup constantly coming up.

The "Got It" option has been clicked, but next time the slideshow loads - the popup comes back.

It would be very helpful to have the options when publishing slides to a device that does not require human interaction, that these options are suppressed from appearing.

Hi Bryce,

Thank you for taking the time to post to the Google Docs Help Forum.

If you would like to influence future feature improvements like this, I highly recommend leaving feedback by following these steps:

  1. Open the Google Slide.

  2. Click the Help menu.

  3. Click Report a problem.

  4. Complete the questionnaire.

The product team reviews this feedback regularly and uses it to better improve the product over time.

Meanwhile, since you are using Google for Education, I would recommend contacting your Google Apps administrator. Your administrator can also report any issues or contact a Google Apps support representative for more personalized assistance.

Regards,

Xuan

I'm in the same boat. This is crazy as slides is a great cheap way to have digital signage but this error looks very unprofessional

We are having similar issues. As the display is done as a published slideshow on a One-Lan net top box, the blue box is not clickable.

Can anyone at Google supply a solution (not a boilerplate cut'n'paste response - they really are annoying) or an ETA to a fix being supplied?

We are having the same issue here on our digital signage. We use android boxes and can click the box, but it keeps coming right back each time we push an update. Looks very unprofessional.

We started seeing this same popup on all of our kiosk mode digital signs yesterday.  If anyone figures out a way to permanently suppress this popup, please share.  Thanks.

We have several Brightsign boxes that are used in multiple schools, and we get the same pop up. I would love a way to get rid of it, since it makes the presentations look unprofessional.

We are having the same problem. It would be great for us if there were a signage view where there were no navigation on the screen at all.

While I can't know for an absolute certainty, as I don't know the specifics of your setup, I'm pretty confident that all you need to do is add &rm=minimal to the end of the URL you are using on your raspberry pi.  From what little I've read about using a Raspberry Pi for signage, I assume you have some sort of script or application that is handling the launching and 'fullscreening' of a browser which loads the provided URL. The browser just displays the website.  If the website was static, it would just sit there (on google.com, for instance).  The only reason this works as a slideshow is because the URL of the google slideshow has variables that instructs it what to do.

In that case, there is no reason why this fix wouldn't work for you as well.

If you dissect the URL, you can see that options are pretty self explanatory:
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/<unique slideshow id>/pub?start=<true/false>&loop=<true/false>&delayms=<delay in milliseconds>&rm=minimal <--(hides controls)

Here is an example.  This should start automatically, advance every 3 seconds, loop automatically, and hide the controls (the player or script on the rasperrby pi is responsible for launching a browser in fullscreen mode and loading the URL):
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1qVWkuSA_Bzbti07P_VtsGw0c8vLmyZ51aSDO5aCEJac/pub?start=true&loop=true&delayms=3000&rm=minimal
