How can I embed a non-Youtube video into my presentation?

Hello,

In Google Presentations, we can go to Insert / Video... to insert a video, but the only type of video we can insert is a Youtube video. How can we embed a video that is on our Google Drive?

it does suck - so many reasons, too many to list, why businesses run from google and hug MS - it's just not ready for professional use and probably will never be

specifically, i was trying to make a looping google presentation to show during a tradeshow - it would just run in the background - had to use animations to "time" the presentation because there doesn't seem to be a way to auto advance slides (unless you embed it into a webpage - but the actual slideshow itself has no way to time slides) - and then forget trying to embed a youtube video, there is no autoplay option so that it plays when the slide loads - so there was no way for me to use google presentation for a tradeshow because I'd have to be watching it for 8 hrs to click the advance and play buttons for videos

google is just so not ready for primetime in so many areas

You can embed a link to an external video in Google Drive.  Here are the instructions from the manual
