Managing exchanges

Display & Video 360 allows you to bid and buy inventory from publishers through multiple ad exchanges.

You must enable an exchange to:

  • target their inventory in line items.
  • view an exchange's publishers and inventory on marketplace.
  • add an exchange to the available publishers list when creating a deal.

Note: Some exchanges that you add may not be available for manual deal creation. These exchanges automatically sync their deals. For more information, see synced deals.

Display & Video 360 periodically adds new exchanges and migrates inventory from sub-exchanges to direct integrations. When you enable a newly migrated direct exchange, all existing line items actively targeting the old sub-exchange automatically migrate to open auction demand.

This migration is only active for a limited time after a new exchange integration. The deals that you've set up on the old sub exchange won't be affected. To manually  transition deals, contact the exchange or publisher. If you have line items targeting an old sub-exchange integration, you must update the target to the new direct exchange integration to access the same inventory.

For more information, view the list of supported exchanges and sub-exchanges.

Prerequisite

You require an Admin or Standard role to the partner whose exchange you want to manage. For more information, go to Manage users in Display & Video 360.

Automatically enable all new exchanges

You can discover newly added inventory packages on Marketplace as soon as a new exchange is integrated into DV360 by automatically enabling newly added exchanges:

  1. From the partner level, go to Resourcesand thenBasic Details.
  2. Under Exchanges: Select Automatically enable new exchanges.
  3. (Optional) Choose if you also want to Target new exchanges:
    • Choosing Yes sets your line items to automatically spend on new exchanges.
    • Choosing No would require that you manually set targeting for your line items before they can spend on a new exchange.

Automatically target new exchanges

You can set up your line items to automatically spend on new exchanges as soon as they're enabled:

  1. From the partner level, go to Partner settings and then Targeting
  2. Under Public inventory, choose the edit icon.
  3. Select the checkbox to Target new exchanges.

Enable an exchange

If you haven't automatically enabled all new exchanges, you'd need to manually enable an exchange as Display & Video 360 periodically adds new exchanges.

  1. Navigate to your partner.
  2. From the left menu, select Partner Settings and then Basic Details.
  3. Under Exchanges: Select the edit icon to view a list of available exchanges.
    1. Select the exchange you want to enable.

Note: Some exchanges require the partner to contact the Display & Video 360 support team to set up or update a seat ID.

  4. Choose Save when done.

Disable an exchange

Important:
Disabling exchanges affect inventory source targeting options and publishers available when you create a deal. Disabling exchanges stop all line items from targeting their inventory, which may affect delivery on existing line items.
  1. Navigate to your partner.
  2. From the left menu, select Partner Settingsand then Basic Details.
  3. Under Exchanges: Select the edit icon to view a list of available exchanges.
    1. Deselect the exchange you want to remove.
  4. Choose Save when done.
