Wrap multiple tags at once

On January 7, 2025 manual tag wrapping will no longer be available in Display & Video 360. We recommend using automated tag wrapping as an alternative.
If you sync creatives from Campaign Manager 360, you can save time with automated third-party verification. Creatives that have automated third-party verification enabled will sync to Display & Video 360 as wrapped creatives, so you don't have to apply wrappers manually.
To provide a safeguard against serving ads on the wrong sites, you can wrap your creatives with technology from third-party verification services, which can prevent your ads from accidentally serving in the wrong media.

This article describes how to add wrappers to more than one creative at a time. If you only need to wrap one creative, see Add third-party verification to a creative.

Supported third-party video verification providers

Currently only the following third-party verification providers are approved for serving:

  • DoubleVerify
  • Integral Ad Science

If you attempt to use a wrapper from an unapproved provider, you'll see an error.

Limitations

  • Bulk tag wrapping is currently available for video creatives (Display & Video 360-hosted and Campaign Manager 360-hosted) and Campaign Manager 360-hosted display creatives. However, you can still add tracking tags individually to other creative types.
  • When using wrapped display tags, Display & Video 360 cost data ("Display & Video 360 cost") will not be passed on to Campaign Manager 360 reporting. However, wrapped video tags do pass cost data.

Wrap display tags in bulk

Follow these steps to add wrappers to up to 200 display creatives at once. You can only add wrappers to creatives that have already been synced to your Display & Video 360 account from Campaign Manager 360. If your advertiser is not linked to Campaign Manager 360, see Add third-party verification to a creative.

Step 1: Export the display creatives you want to wrap

Actions menu, then Export spreadsheet

  1. Open Display & Video 360.
  2. Open your advertiser, then click Creatives in the left menu.
  3. Select up to 200 creatives you want to add wrappers to, making sure to only select Standard creatives that are synced from Campaign Manager 360.
    • If you select the wrong creative type, you'll see a warning dialog, and if you choose to proceed, only the selected Standard creatives will be included in the spreadsheet.
    • If you select more than 200 creatives, the export file may take a few minutes.
  4. Click Tag wrapping, then Export spreadsheet. A spreadsheet in CSV (comma-separated values) format will download.

Step 2: Send the tag wrapping spreadsheet to your verification service

  1. Send or share the tag wrapping spreadsheet with your third-party verification provider.
  2. Ask them to fill in the Third-Party Wrapped Tag column (column F) with the wrapped version of each tag provided in the DV360 Original Tag column (column E).
  3. Ask them to send you the completed spreadsheet, saved in CSV format.

Step 3: Import the spreadsheet

Review the completed spreadsheet. Make sure no columns have been added (compare with the format example below). Check the Third-Party Wrapped Tag column to make sure there are no empty rows. If the wrapped version of the tag isn't included in the spreadsheet, you'll see an error during bulk upload, and when you save, no wrappers will be applied to the creatives in those rows. However, any creatives with valid wrapped tags in the spreadsheet will still be wrapped.

  1. Open the same advertiser you exported the creatives from in Step 1, then click Creatives in the left menu.
  2. Click New, then Tag wrapping import, then Display.
  3. Review the creatives that you're about to add wrappers to.
  4. Save to add all tag wrappers.
If there are any problems adding the tag wrappers, you'll see an error message describing the problem. Correct the error in the spreadsheet, then upload it again.

Display tag wrapping spreadsheet format

The tag wrapping spreadsheet columns must be the same as the exported spreadsheet. Don't add, rename, reorder, or delete columns.

Note: No changes should be made to the exported rows in columns A, B, C, D, or E. Changes in the DV360 Creative ID column (column B) will cause the spreadsheet import to fail, while changes in columns A, C, D, or E will simply be ignored.

Wrap video tags in bulk

Follow these steps to add wrappers up to 200 video creatives at once. You can only add wrappers to video creatives hosted on Display & Video 360 or Campaign Manager 360.

Step 1: Export the video creatives you want to wrap

    • If you select both Video and Standard creatives, each type will be exported to a separate spreadsheet. For Standard creatives, follow the display tag wrapping instructions. For video creatives, follow the instructions below.
    • If you select an unsupported creative type, you'll see a warning dialog, and if you choose to proceed, only the selected Standard creatives will be included in the spreadsheet.

Video tag wrapping spreadsheet format

The tag wrapping spreadsheet columns must be the same as the exported spreadsheet. Don't add, rename, reorder, or delete columns.

Note: No changes should be made to the exported rows in columns A, B, or C. Changes in the Display & Video 360 Creative ID column (column B) will cause the spreadsheet import to fail, while changes in columns A or C will simply be ignored.

Trouble importing a bulk wrapping spreadsheet

If you get errors when you import a bulk wrapping spreadsheet, make sure:

  • No required cells are blank
  • No columns were removed
  • No changes were made in columns with Display & Video 360 creative IDs, dimensions, or original tags.

Otherwise, the spreadsheet template may have been updated since you first downloaded it.

  1. Download the template again.
  2. Compare the template columns, column names, and column order with your spreadsheet.
  3. Make changes to your spreadsheet to match the new template, or fill out the new spreadsheet from scratch.
