A call-to-action (CTA) overlay is an interactive element that appears over a TrueView ad, and can help drive clicks to your website. An overlay appears when the video starts, and collapses into a thumbnail image after 15 seconds. On desktop browsers, the CTA expands when viewers hover over it. On mobile browsers, the CTA expands when viewers tap the thumbnail image.

- Optional for TrueView in-stream ads in brand awareness and reach line items.
- Required for TrueView for action line items.
- Not available for other ad formats and line item types.
- Only one overlay may appear per YouTube video at a time.
