How Ask Advisor works
Ask Advisor is optimized for Display & Video 360. It can understand your questions and provide personalized responses. You can use Ask Advisor to help with troubleshooting, produce reports, assist with campaign setup, and view the history or your account changes.Follow the steps below to access Ask Advisor in Display & Video 360:
- From any page in Display & Video 360, select the Ask Advisor
icon in the top right corner.
- This opens the Ask Advisor window on the right panel.
- Type your query into Ask Advisor.
Keep in mind:
- Ask Advisor may need a moment to process your request.
- In some scenarios, Ask Advisor may not generate responses that are accurate or relevant. You can use the thumbs up and thumbs down buttons to provide the product team with feedback on each response.
- It’s your responsibility to ensure that the suggestions you accept are accurate and relevant before implementing them into your account.
Examples of what you can accomplish with Ask Advisor
Troubleshoot creatives with Ask Advisor
When one of your creatives is rejected for a policy violation, you can use Ask Advisor to help you understand the specific reason for the rejection and get help fixing the issue. Ask Advisor supports in-app querying of creative IDs, provides detailed explanations for creative rejections, and includes an entry point to Ask Advisor directly from creative details.- Get detailed explanations: Users can receive immediate, clear explanations for why their creative was rejected, based on Google Ads and exchange policies.
- Corrective guidance: Ask Advisor will also suggest corrective actions like applying for certifications, or updating landing pages.
- From Ask Advisor: Open Ask Advisor and use one of the suggested prompts, or type your question such as “Why was creative 123 rejected?”.
- From the creative details page: When reviewing a rejected creative, select the Chat about this button to open Ask Advisor and chat about the creative you are working on.
How to get reports with Ask Advisor
You can use Ask Advisor to get reports too. Ask questions in natural language from any page in Display & Video 360 to retrieve reporting data without navigating to the report builder. This allows you to quickly understand performance metrics and identify your top performing campaigns, insertion orders, or line items.- From any page in Display & Video 360, open Ask Advisor
- In the chat, ask a question about your campaign’s performance. See the examples below for ideas.
- Ask Advisor will provide a text and/or visual summary of the relevant data.
Example questions
You can query Ask Advisor a wide range of questions about your performance data. Here are some examples:- How are my campaigns performing?

About the results
- Accuracy: The metrics provided by Ask Advisor are the same as those found in Display & Video 360 and report builder. To ensure clarity, each response will state the exact date range, dimensions, and metrics used to answer your question.
- Data availability: You can request data for any non-deleted entity from the last 2 years.
QA campaign setup with Ask Advisor
Ask advisor can also automate tedious time consuming QA tasks on behalf of users. For example, users can ask "show me outliers with line item geo targeting", or "show me line items with dissimilar conversion counting settings".View Change History information with Ask Advisor
