The Google Home app walks you through the steps to set up your Google Chromecast Audio device.
If you've already set up your Chromecast Audio on a mobile device, you don't need to set it up again on a different mobile device if all devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Note: Chromecast Audio setup on your computer is no longer supported. To set up your Chromecast Audio, use a mobile device.
What you need to get started
- A Chromecast Audio device.
- The latest version of the Google Home app .
- Access to an available wall outlet and a secure wireless network.
- A speaker system.
- Meet the minimum Operating System (OS) requirements to run the Google Home app .
- Access to a secure wireless network. Make sure you have the wireless network password handy.
- Connection to Wi-Fi (either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) and an internet connection.
- A compatible Android device.
- Availability and performance of certain features, services and applications are device- and network-dependent and might not be available in all areas. Subscription(s) may be required, and additional terms, conditions and/or charges may apply.
Set up Chromecast Audio
- Plug in Chromecast Audio
- Download the Google Home app on your Chromecast Audio supported Android device.
- Open the Google Home app .
- Follow the steps to set up your device. If you can't find the steps to set up your Chromecast Audio:
- Tap Devices Add Google Nest or partner device .
- Follow the setup steps.
- Setup is successful. You’re all done!
