Create, find & edit bookmarks in Chrome

Create bookmarks so Chrome can remember your favorite and frequently visited websites.

When you sign in to Chrome with your Google Account, you can use bookmarks and other info on all your devices.

Add a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Go to the site you want to visit again in the future.
  3. To the right of the address bar, select Bookmark Bookmark this page.

Find a bookmark

Important: To open a bookmark the easy way, select it in the Bookmarks bar. To turn the bookmarks bar on or off, select More More and then Bookmarks and lists and then Show bookmarks bar.

If you don’t have the bookmarks bar turned on or your bookmark isn't there, there are 3 ways to find your bookmarks.

From the address bar
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. In the address bar, enter @bookmarks.
  3. Press Tab or Space.
    • You can also select Search bookmarks Search in the suggestions.
  4. Enter keywords for the bookmark you want.
  5. Select your bookmark from the list.
From the menu
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More More and then Bookmarks and lists and then Bookmarks Manager.
  3. Select a bookmark.
From the navigation panel
  1. At the top right of your browser, select Side panel .
  2. Select the Down arrow Down arrow and then Bookmarks.
  3. Select a bookmark.
Tip: To switch bookmarks from visual to compact view, select .

Edit a bookmark

From the menu
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More More and then Bookmarks and lists and then Bookmark Manager.
  3. On the right, select More More and then Edit.
From the navigation panel
  1. At the top right of your browser, select Side panel .
  2. Select the Down arrow Down arrow and then Bookmarks.
  3. To edit a single bookmark, hover over a bookmark.
  4. Select More More and then Edit.
    • To edit in bulk, select Edit .

Delete a bookmark

Important: After you delete a bookmark, you can't get it back. From the menu
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More More and then Bookmarks and lists and then Bookmark Manager.
  3. On the right, select More More and then Delete.
From the navigation panel
  1. At the top right of your browser, select Side panel and then Down arrow Down arrow and then Bookmarks.
  2. Hover over the specific bookmark folder or link.
  3. Select MoreMore and then Delete.

Create a new bookmark folder

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More More and then Bookmarks and lists and then Bookmark Manager.
  3. At the top right, select More More and then Add new folder.

If you use the bookmarks bar, to add a folder, right-click the bookmarks bar and select Add Folder.

Sort your bookmarks

From the menu
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More More and then Bookmarks and lists and then Bookmark Manager.
  3. At the top right, select More More and then Sort by name.
From the navigation panel
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right of your browser, select Side panel and then Down arrow Down arrow and then Bookmarks.
  3. To sort your bookmarks, select Organize .
  4. Choose your preferred sort organization:
    • Sort by newest
    • Sort by oldest
    • Sort by last opened
    • Sort by A to Z
    • Sort by Z to A

Move your bookmarks

From the menu
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More More and then Bookmarks and lists and then Bookmark Manager.
  3. Drag a bookmark up or down, or drag a bookmark into a folder on the left. You can also copy and paste your bookmarks in the order you want.

If you use the bookmarks bar, you can drag your bookmarks into the order you want.

From the navigation panel
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right of your browser, select Side panel and then Down arrow Down arrow and then Bookmarks.
  3. Select the bookmark that you want to move and then More More and then Edit.
  4. Select the folder where you want to move the bookmark to and thenSave.
