Export data from Chrome Browser Cloud Management

For administrators who enroll Windows, Mac, Linux, or iOS devices in Chrome Browser Cloud Management.

When you manage enrolled Chrome browsers from your Admin console, you can export data collected from your users' browsers, Chrome versions data, and data on each extension used in your organization. Information is exported as a CSV or compressed JSON file. The maximum number of browsers that you can export to CSV or JSON is 5,000.

Download your browser data

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Devicesand thenChromeand thenManaged browsers.

    If you signed up for Chrome Browser Cloud Management, go to Menu and then Chrome browserand thenManaged browsers.

  3. (Optional) On the left, select an organizational unit. By default, all browsers are shown.
  4. Make sure that no browsers are selected. (The download button does not appear when browsers are selected).
  5. Click Export.
  6. Choose an option:
    • A JSON file that includes all known information about each browser.
    • A CSV file that includes only data that can be formatted to a flat CSV table.
  7. Click Download. It can take a while to collect all of the information and make it available for download. When it's ready, you'll see that the Devices info file is ready. Learn more about monitoring large tasks.
  8. Click Download.

Download the Versions report data

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Devicesand thenChromeand thenReportsand thenVersions.
  3. (Optional) On the left, select an organizational unit. By default, all managed devices and browsers are shown.
  4. Click Export. It can take some time for the file download to execute. Learn more about monitoring large tasks.
  5. When it is complete you'll see Versions report CSV file is ready. Click Download CSV.

Download the Apps & extensions usage report data

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Devicesand thenChromeand thenReportsand thenApps & extensions usage.
  3. (Optional) On the left, select an organizational unit. By default, all extensions are shown.
  4. Click Export. It can take some time for the file download to execute. Learn more about monitoring large tasks.
  5. When it is complete you'll see Apps and extensions info file is ready. Click Download CSV.

What data gets exported?

Managed browser list

The JSON file includes the following information for each managed Chrome browser in your organization, including details such as:

  • The OS platform, OS version, machine name, device ID, organizational unit ID, and last user to sign in to the device.
  • The browser version, number of policies applied, number of extensions installed, and associated profiles.
  • The extensions and plugins installed, including their name, version, and permissions required.
  • The policies applied, including their names, values, source, and errors, if applicable.

The CSV file includes the following information for each managed Chrome browser in your organization, including details such as:

  • The OS platform, OS version, machine name, device ID, organizational unit ID, and last user to sign in to the device.
  • The browser version, number of policies applied, and number of extensions installed.

Versions report

The CSV file includes the following information:

  • Version—Full version number of the browser.
  • Channel—Release channel of the browser.
  • System—Operating system of the machine that the browser is running on.
  • Count—Total number of browsers.

Apps & Extensions Report

The CSV file includes the following information for each extension used in your organization:

  • App name—App or extension’s name.
  • App ID—App ID.
  • App type—Type of app.
  • Install type—How the app or extension was installed.
  • Disable or enabled—Whether this app is enabled or not.
  • Num installed—Total number of Chrome browsers with this app installed.
  • Num permissions—Total number of permissions for the app.
  • List of permissions—List of permissions for the app.

Troubleshooting

To open the link to the downloaded information, only the admin who generated the export can be signed in to the Admin console. To see if other admins are signed in, at the top right of the Admin console, click your profile image. If needed, sign out of all accounts, sign back in, and try again.
