Audience: Project managers, IT administrators, system architects, CIOs, security and finance teams.
You can set up your Google Cloud reseller account and Partner Sales Console in different ways using the tools that Google provides.
Google Cloud reseller tools
- Partner Sales Console—Your reseller team uses the Partner Sales Console to manage customers, place orders (create billing subaccounts), and set permissions on billing subaccounts. The console also includes dashboards for customer metrics and insights. For details, go to The Partner Sales Console.
- Google Admin console—Your organization uses the Admin console, which is included with Cloud Identity and Google Workspace subscriptions, to manage user accounts and manage permissions.
- Cloud Channel API—Developers and system integrators use the Toolkit to write applications that manage customers and their orders for Google products. For details, go to Cloud Channel API.
Overview of setting up your reseller account
All Google Cloud reseller billing accounts must be contained in a Google Cloud organization resource. An organization resource with Google Cloud reseller billing accounts is associated with a Partner Sales Console. If you set up 2 Google Cloud organization resources, you have 2 separate Partner Sales Consoles.
Steps to set up your Partner Sales Console:
- Sign up for a Cloud Identity or Google Workspace account.
- Verify that you own your domain.
Your Google Admin console and Google Cloud subscription is now associated with your domain. - In your Google Admin console, create accounts for your users.
- Move your Google Cloud reseller billing accounts into your Google Cloud organization resource.
- Give users permissions to manage customers and Google Cloud orders:
- In the Partner Sales Console, assign users Google Cloud Reseller roles for your reseller billing account.
- In the Google Cloud console, assign users Cloud Billing roles on your reseller billing account.
For details, go to Make a user an admin.
- Add your customers to the Partner Sales Console:
- Create the customer's account, (including customer name, contacts, and address).
- Connect their billing subaccounts to their customer account.
Considerations when setting up your reseller account

Assemble your IT admin teamWe recommend working with your IT administration team to set up your reseller account including the following administrators:
- An administrator who can access your company's domain host and manage DNS settings.
- Super admins with access to Google Cloud and Partner Sales Console user settings and resources.
- Organization admins who manage permissions and access to your organization resource. For details, go to Creating and managing organization resources.
Setting up your reseller account isn't technically complex, but does require choosing the configuration that fits your business.
We recommend setting up your Cloud Identity or Google Workspace reseller account using a subdomain, for example, reseller.your-company.com. Then, your users sign in to the Partner Sales Console and Google Cloud console with their account, for example, user@reseller.your-company.com.
Alternatively, you can use your company domain for your Cloud Identity or Google Workspace reseller account.
Benefits of a subdomain
- If your company already uses Google Workspace, you have separation between your company account and your reseller account. A super admin on your reseller team won't have full access to your company's Google Workspace account.
- If you resell Google Workspace, you can purchase the Google Workspace or Cloud Identity Premium subscription for your company. Or, you can transfer your existing Google Workspace subscription to your reseller account.
Considerations for a subdomain
- You need to manage a separate set of user accounts and credentials. The super admins and user management admins in your Cloud Identity or Google Workspace reseller account must actively manage user accounts. For example, if a user leaves the company, the admin is responsible for removing the user's account.
- To receive notifications, users must set up email forwarding from their reseller account to their user account.
Reseller domain requirements
Before you set up your reseller account, check that your domain or subdomain meets these requirements:
- The domain is the primary domain for your Cloud Identity or Google Workspace account. You cannot change the primary domain. Instead, you need to sign up for Cloud Identity or Google Workspace again with the new domain name.
- The domain is registered and verified.
- If you resell Google Workspace, you have a paid Google Workspace subscription for the domain.
Domains that can't be used:
- Secondary domains and domain aliases in your Cloud Identity or Google Workspace account.
- Domains purchased when you signed up for Cloud Identity or Google Workspace
- Domains that are unverified, purged, expired, or deleted.
The following conditions apply when setting up a Google Cloud organization resource:
- One organization resource is connected to one Partner Sales Console.
- All Google Cloud reseller billing accounts must belong to an organization.
An organization resource can have Google Cloud reseller billing accounts in different currencies. Each reseller billing account generates an individual invoice.
Before you can create a Google Cloud organization resource, you must sign up for a Google Workspace or Cloud Identity subscription and verify your domain.
For the steps, go to Creating and managing organization resources.
Single organization resource
With a single organization resource, you start with one Google Cloud reseller billing account that operates in a single currency. The reseller billing account has a selected tax status and link to a payment profile of a legal affiliate. If you work with multiple currencies and legal affiliates, you can set up multiple Google Cloud reseller billing accounts. Changes to permissions at the organization level apply to all Google Cloud reseller billing accounts in the organization resource.
Advantages
- One set of users to manage.
- One organization resource to manage. Permissions set at the organization level are inherited by all Google Cloud reseller billing accounts in the organization resource.
Considerations
- Users with Partner Sales Console access can view all customers' names, domain, and contact information. Only users with permissions on a reseller billing account can view a customer's billing subaccount information.
- To sign in to the Partner Sales Console, users need an account in the Google Admin console and a role in your organization resource.
Multiple organization resources
Set up separate organization resources based on your business' country, region, branding, or other factors. Each organization resource requires its own subdomain or domain.
Advantages
Each organization resource has its own Partner Sales Console and separate sets of super administrators and billing account administrators.
Considerations
- Multiple organization resources and Cloud Identity or Google Workspace accounts to manage
- Multiple users and permissions to manage for each organization resource
You can give each team its own Admin console, Partner Sales Console, organization resource, and Google Cloud reseller billing accounts. IT administrators for each domain are responsible for managing their own set of users.
Or you can set up a secondary domain, which gives you a separate organization resource, Partner Sales Console, and Google Cloud reseller billing account. Your IT organization manages all users and domains in one Admin console.
Resell Google Cloud and Google Workspace
If you resell both Google Cloud and Google Workspace, we recommend managing customers and subscriptions in one Partner Sales Console. For a unified Partner Sales Console, you use the same domain for your Google Cloud and Google Workspace reseller accounts.
For example, if you signed up for a Google Workspace subscription for reseller.your-company.ca and chose Canada as the country, then the country for your Google Cloud organization is Canada. When you become a Google Workspace reseller, you can set up a Google Workspace reseller billing account in Canadian dollars linked to a corporate entity based in Canada. You can also set up billing accounts in other currencies in the same Partner Sales Console.
Note: After you set up a Google Workspace billing account, you can't change the billing country or currency. For details, go to Payment options in my country.
Resell Google Workspace in multiple currencies
If you resell Google Workspace in multiple currencies, you need a different Google Workspace reseller billing account for each currency. You can manage these billing accounts in 2 ways:
- Single Partner Sales Console (Recommended)—Use the same domain and Partner Sales Console for multiple Google Workspace billing accounts, one or more for each currency. Learn about the Benefits of using one Partner Sales Console for multiple currencies.
- Multiple Partner Sales Console—Use a separate domain and Partner Sales Console for each Google Workspace billing account in a different currency.
You can’t migrate a Partner Sales Console or consolidate multiple Partner Sales Consoles.
Benefits of multiple currencies in one Partner Sales Console
- Lets you purchase Google Workspace products using multiple billing accounts for different currencies in a single console.
- Eliminates the need to provide a new Partner Sales Console for each new currency, which can save you weeks of setup time.
- Increases operational efficiency by eliminating the need to manage multiple console logins. For example, to purchase Google Workspace in USD and CAD currencies, you don't need multiple consoles and logins. You can instead manage all customers with just a single console and login.
- Enables consolidated business insights and reports for transactions across multiple currencies in a single console.
