How to stop Verify My Business phone calls

Your 3rd party call centers keep calling me to verify my business. No matter how many times I verify my business, no matter how many times I ask to be removed from the calling list, your call centers continue to repeatedly call me. Sometimes multiple times in one day.

I spent 4 and a half hours arguing with representatives at one of your call centers operated by 411Locals, with a call center location based out of Florida. In a single day I marked over 60 inbound calls from them, as well as I called them over 120 times, due to their refusal to service my request to be removed from their list.

Now I can tell they were very angry with me, but I was also angry with them. Finally I had someone help me, and I got a hold of their head office number in Nevada to file a complaint with them, as well as a complaint against their disrespectful and rude staff. They did confirm to me on the phone that they do have a contract with Google for verify my business outbound calling.

It's been quiet for a few days, but now today the calls started again. I am still receiving phone calls from the Verify My Business robodialer, however they are different call centers calling me.

If they are calling under the Google name and I ask to be removed from their list, and no longer be called, it is illegal for you to continue to call me, both within the USA as well as here in Canada.

This is not just me that is having this problem. Many other business colleagues say they are getting daily calls as well. I used to answer the phone once a day at my prior place of employment, and we did not even ever register a Google business listing.

I am ready to lodge a formal complaint with the CRTC here in Canada about this sort of abusive calling.

I have tried calling Google head office, but the hold times are ridiculous.

You are mistaken thinking the callers are Googles 3rd party call centers.

That are just annoying scammers.

Google can't stop such bad doing.

My recommendation: block or report their phone numbers as scammers on public reporting websites

Scary when one of the largests companies in the world can't find a way to stop this madness.

I told the "good for nothing caller" that I wasn't interested and need to have my number removed. He told me that Google will continue to call me until I'm verified. I told him that I would tell them the same thing. He said, "How about I just put "TEMPORARILY CLOSED" on my account. To me that is a threat to my business and that reflects back on Google. So whether or not this is Google or a scam, it is the assumption of everyone that it is GOOGLE that hires these people to make these threatening phone calls. Not everyone has the ability to Block calls on business landlines.

I have been getting these calls too. Today the call was from India. These people were telling me that I have to pay a one time fee of $99 in order to remove our business from unverified business. Then he asked me for a number where I can get a text to verify code. I refused to give the cell phone numbers and asked them to send me an email. At that point he got rude and then hung up. I am sure these are scammers, but I tried to call Google to verify if they are the ones calling but there is no such numbers available.

yeah 19 times a day i keep hitting block number. yet they keep calling. i run a motorcycle shop so phone rings grab a rag wipe hands just for this crap all day. lawsuit for sure sign me up. 1mil compensation each of us.

I answer them on speaker phone, once l determine it's a scammer. I blast them with an airhorn.

Today I pressed 1 to talk to a human, a tactic I’ve tried a few times unsuccessfully to ask to be removed from the list, which legally you should be able to do, and the man on the phone became obscene. I see many other comments like this. They are not only unfettered, they feel very safe in what they’re doing — they seem to know they can’t get caught. I can’t imagine why a powerful company like Google lets this go. If someone was using my business and telling businesses to go do something obscene, that would be a pretty big deal. Google needs to do something, or give us some recourse.

I'd like to have a way that the only communication from Google to me to verify anything is only by email. No calls at all . That way Google customers will know its a scam number harrassing them all day.

We have a specific ringtone for customers and when that tone occurs you think its a customer, no its a scammer taking your time away from present and future customers time.

Sign me on to a Class Action Lawsuit!. This is unacceptable business practice, there should be a law prohibit this harassment.

I'm naturally not an angry person, but this harassment has been too much and too long...a few calls daily and for months?

To day , they managed to call my cell phone... what right do they have to invade my privacy??

Everyone gets these calls. With my previous business number, I started getting these calls before my google listing was live. So, google must be providing/ selling the information to these call centers.

I been getting this calls as well, but I started to ask for the person name their company name their direct # to verify them and they hang up on me. That's the only thing that has any results.

OK, lets call this shit as it is! GOOGLE is the problem, They either started this shit by paying companies to verify the web info or there are a third party's trying to sell you something! Everyone at the nose bleed level (Government) could sop this shit, but obviously, someone is getting paid, that is what makes us Americans suffer through this shit! Come on, do they think we are stupid? Come on!!

So I didn't even have a google listing and I've been getting these calls. I've since then registered my business but not got any call for verification just a text and mail to my house.

This is clearly not Google calling. You can report these numbers because they're spoofing them. They can be from any area code in your city or in the U.S. So if you block the number they just call from another one.

I own a pixel and I screen their calls now lol. But I'd love to be able to completely get rid of them.

Hopefully the CRTC can do something here in Canada

These annoying calls ARE COMING FROM GOOGLE. Numbers are blocked and they keep calling from different numbers. Goggle is desperately looking to richer on ad accounts GREEDY. for those who advertise on Google, GOOGLE RUNS your CLICK ADS in India, and poor people with no money and no connection to America click on your ads and deplete your account and send the fraudulent gotten money in to Google's pocket. Many years ago they used to pay poor people in India to click on USA Ads ( aka click fraud), NOW they just send yours ads to India and other poor 3rd world countries. 3rd World People CLICK your ads Mostly India, and to a lesser extent , other poor Third World Countries including eastern Europe. GOOGLE ADS ARE A SCAM!!! Every wonder why you get a lot of clicks and no business, now you know. I see a Class Action lawsuit coming. GOOGLE has been number clicks SCAMS from the beginning. NOW they are hounding businesses NIGHT AND DAY with telemarketing calls to get you to advertise with them, EVERY NIGHT THERE is a call around 6.40PM eastern Time. Even if your block most 3rd world countries from clicking on your ad, Google still allows many to get through. It takes days to block most 3rd world countries if you can find the country code google uses. GOOGLE IS A FRAUD PEOPLE!!!!
