To help your business stand out online and let your customers know details about your business, you can select relevant and accurate attributes. For example, you can share whether your business offers outdoor seats or Wi-Fi.
Attributes appear on your Business Profile on Google Search, Google Maps, Google Pay, and other Google products and services. If you add certain attributes to your profile, your business might show up in search results for places with those attributes on Google platforms.
How it works
You can directly edit certain factual attributes about your business. However, some attributes may also be populated based on input from customers who visit your business.
Tip: Some attributes are only available in certain countries or regions or to certain categories of businesses. Also, to better match the ways that people search for businesses, attribute names may change over time.
Edit an attribute
- Go to your Business Profile.
- To edit your business info:
- On Google Search, select Edit profile.
- On Google Maps, select Manage your Business Profile
Edit profile.
- Near the top, select the More tab.
- Select the attribute category you want to change.
- Example: “Amenities” or “Service options”
- Next to the attribute, select Yes or No.
- After you update your attributes, select Save.
After you edit your attributes, we will review the changes. The review usually takes up to 10 minutes, but in some cases, it can take up to 30 days.
About accessibility attributesAccessibility attributes collect info about your business to share with customers who have specific accessibility needs. These attributes indicate whether or not your business’s entrance, restroom, seating, parking, and elevator are accessible for people in wheelchairs.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Select yes if the entrance to the business is approximately 3 feet wide and doesn’t have steps. 3 feet (or 1 meter) is approximately the minimum comfortable width for two people to stand right next to each other. If there are one or more steps, there should be a permanent ramp or, at the very least, a moveable ramp. Entryways that consist of only revolving doors should be marked No for this attribute.Wheelchair-accessible restroom
Select yes if the entrance to the restroom is at least one meter wide and can be reached without going up or down steps. If a person in a wheelchair would need to enter a stall inside the restroom, the stall’s entrance also needs to be one meter wide. (Remember, one meter is about the width of two people standing comfortably side by side.)Wheelchair-accessible seating
Select yes if the main area of the business can be accessed without stairs and there’s enough space for someone in a wheelchair to navigate to and sit at a table. If all tables are high (e.g. at standing level), the business isn’t wheelchair-friendly.Wheelchair-accessible parking
Select yes if there’s a parking spot specifically marked for those with accessibility needs. These spots are often marked with specific painting on the ground, placards, or signs (depending on your country and/or region).Wheelchair-accessible elevator
Select yes if a place has multiple floors and there is an elevator that is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. To inform customers that you offer recycling drop-off services and to demonstrate your commitment to sustainability, you can use the recycling attributes on your Business Profile.
Choose one or more of the following recycling attributes based on your business category:
- Batteries
- Clothing
- Electronics
- Glass bottles
- Household hazardous waste
- Ink cartridges
- Light bulbs
- Metal cans
- Plastic bags
- Plastic bottles
- Plastic foam
Tip: If you add a recycling attribute to your profile, your business shows up in search results with a recycling icon.
Use recycling attributes with multiple business profiles
If your business has 10 or more locations, you can bulk upload attributes on your Business Profiles. If you work with a third-party marketing agency to manage your profiles, the agency can update your locations through the Google Business Profile APIs.To inform customers about the identity of your business on Search and Maps, you can set business identity attributes for your Google Business Profile. Your business identity attributes set you apart from other businesses, which can create connections between you and your customers.
You can choose:
- Asian-owned
- Black-owned
- Latino-owned
- LGBTQ+ owned
- Disabled-owned
- Indigenous-owned
- Veteran-owned
- Women-owned
- Small business
- Franchises shouldn’t be considered small businesses.
- A small business should have an annual revenue of less than $10 million.
- Based on various signals, your business may automatically be opted-in as a small business.
Tip: You can choose multiple identity attributes for your Business Profile.
When you select a business attribute, you inform everyone that your business is owned by someone of that identity. You can opt-in or opt-out of a business identity attribute at any time.
