Owners and managers of location groups
Location groups (previously known as business accounts) make it easier for multiple administrators to manage a set of locations. There are two types of location group/business account users: owners and managers.
Looking for owners and managers of a listing, rather than a location group/business account? Click here.
Location groups/business accounts can have multiple owners, but only one primary owner. Owners and primary owners have the same capabilities, but primary owners can’t remove themselves from a location group/business account until they transfer their primary ownership to another user.
Location group/business account owners are the only users that can add and remove account owners and managers, delete the location group/business account, or transfer the location group/business account to another owner.
Google Groups can't be added as managers or owners of location groups/business accounts.
Location group/business account managers are able to add, edit, and delete all of the locations in the location group/business account. They can also add and remove managers of individual locations.
Location group/business account managers can only be added to the account by a location group/business account owner. Google Groups can't be added as managers or owners of listings.
When you sign in to your account, you'll see the "Accounts you own or manage" page. If you're an owner or manager of a location group/business account, you'll see a note about your level of access below the location group/business account name: either "Location group/business account you own" or “Location group/business account you manage".
Here's a summary of the different capabilities of location group/business account owners and location group/business account managers:
|Capability||Account owner||Account manager|
Add and remove location group/business account managers
Delete location group/business account
Transfer location group/business account ownership
Add, edit, and delete locations in the account
Transfer ownership of locations to a different location group/business account
Owners and managers of individual locations
Just as accounts have owners and managers, individual locations can have multiple users including owners, managers, and communications managers. People who aren't owners or managers of the location group/business account can be invited to own or manage individual locations.
