Android Auto no longer works on vehicle after Android 12 Update

Before updating to Android 12 when plugging my phone into my 2018 F150 things worked flawlessly. However after the OS update when I plug in the phone, nothing happens. Android Auto doesn't pop up on my vehicle screen at all. I've plugged in using multiple cables and on both ports. Nothing seems to work.

Same issue with my phone

Tried another phone, with Android 12 - does not work

More interesting that my phone worked at morning. Seems that google once again something broke.

Same issue with my Samsung a52s5g phone. Now unable to pair with my VW Golf. Prior to update worked without any issues. Can't even get it to work with wire connected. Is this going to be sorted???

Same issues with a brand new rog phone 6. It doesn't connect with the car, a Skoda scala, but the phone says AA IS connected. So frustrating since my old Zenfone still connects fine. Any suggestions?

Hello Google linux Android INC can you pls send a new Android system update because my phone is suffer of bug issues like

bootloop,screen Bug,ghost touch,worst signal ,Worst performance ,thermal heat , etc.

Since update my device to Android 12🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Pls send a stock Android 12 version no Bug issues dont send directly to manufacturer because they are holding your global firmware send in any device

The USB permissions get reset after android 12 update.

Fix:

Enable Developer options:https://developer.android.com/studio/debug/dev-options#:~:text=To%20enable%20developer%20options%2C%20tap,Settings%20%3E%20About%20Phone%20%3E%20Build%20Number

In settings->System Settings->Developer options->Default USB configuration->File transfer / Android Auto.

Select USB configuration ->MTP

Thanks very much, this problem has been bugging me for ages and your solution worked for me. Like Monica, my USB setting for file transfer makes no mention of Android Auto, but the solution still works.

The issue is not Android Auto or Android version, it's the updating of vehicle software or lack thereof.

If this is the case, why does an Android 11 and an Android 12 Device work flawlessly on the same vehicle?

When I try connect android auto to the vehicle from my Lenovo M10plus Gen 3 I get a message saying the app is not compatible with my operating system. Also Android Auto cannot be installed from the play store, I need to "side load" it.

I have tried multiple APK with the same result

I have Oneplus 11 phone with Android 13.

Skoda Kushaq Infotainment fails to recognize connected phone to use Android Auto.

It worked fine on OnePlus 7T running Android 11.

I tried developer options hack suggested by below user. But it doesnt work for me.

I have contacted Skoda. They are going re-install Infotainment software but i dont think that will fix the issue.

Any other suggestions?

Ho lo stesso problema, non visualizza android auto sulla mia autovettura già predisposta con Car Play- Android auto. Ha sempre funzionato. Il mio telefono è evoluto con Android 13 aggiornato all'ultima versione, sostituiti diversi cavi dati lunghi 50 cm, effettuate tutte le prove ma non compare nulla sul display infotainment. Ho provato con altri 2 smartphone Android ma risultato negativo. Invece inserendo un Iphone di un amico ha funzionato tutto perfettamente.

On the Xiaomi Redmi 7 (Android 10) the android Auto works perfectly and stable. On the Xiaomi Redmi 10 (Android 12) with the same cable, in the same car (Clarion Infotainment), Android Auto sometimes connects but after a few minutes it randomly disconnects and cannot be reconnected, the phone constantly tries to reconnect, several times a minute, and fails. I tried clearing the Android Auto cache, and uninstalling Android Auto updates and reinstall from google Play and also other cables but to no success. Something is going wrong with Android 12.
