If you’ve been using the Android Auto app on your phone screen, you’ll need to switch to Google Assistant’s driving mode, a new integrated driving experience. If your car is compatible with Android Auto, you can still connect directly to your car’s display.  Learn about other ways Google is ready to make your drive better.

I can't find the Android Auto app on my phone

Starting with Android 10, Android Auto is built into the phone as a technology that enables your phone to connect to your car display. This means you no longer have to install a separate app from the Play Store to use Android Auto with your car display in compatible cars.

If your vehicle is not compatible with Android Auto on your car display, you can accomplish many of the same tasks using Google Assistant’s driving mode on your phone. To get more information about your car’s compatibility with Android Auto on your car display, contact your vehicle manufacturer.
