How Google Play services can use your body sensors information

When you use the Google Fit app or share fitness data by connecting another app to Google Fit, your fitness data is tied to your Google Account and you can share it with other apps. Google Play services can access body sensors on your Wear OS wearable device or Android phone to support fitness tracking with Google Fit. For example, when Google Play services accesses the heart rate sensor on your watch, it records your heart rate in the background and may sync the info with Google Fit. Tips:

  • To turn off body sensor data collection on your Wear OS device, on your watch, open Settings and then Apps & notifications and then App permissions and then System Apps and then Google Play Services and then Sensors.
  • To disable connected app or device access to Google Fit, on your Android phone, open Settings and then Google and then Settings for Google apps and then Google Fit and then Connected Apps & Devices.
  • To manage or delete your Google Fit data, on your Android phone, open Settings and then Google and then Settings for Google Apps and then Google Fit and then Manage data.
