Use the Google tag ID for Google Analytics 4 properties.
A Google tag ID is a series of letters and numbers that usually starts with "G-". You need a Google tag ID to set up a Google Analytics 4 property for your website using Google Tag Manager and many content management systems (CMSes).
A Google tag is a piece of code that you place on your website. If you don't use Google Tag Manager or a CMS with an integration for the tag ID, you need a Google tag to set up a Google Analytics 4 property for your website.
Find your Google tag ID
A Google tag ID is a series of letters and numbers that usually starts with "G-".
To find your Google tag ID , do the following:
- In Admin, under Property Settings, click Data streams.
Note: The previous link opens to the last Analytics property you accessed. You can change the property using the property selector. You must be an Editor or above at the property level to find your Google tag ID.
- Click the name of your data stream.
If you don't see any data streams and see "Choose a platform," you must add a data stream first. Go to Add a data stream.
- Under Stream details, copy the Measurement ID (starts with "G-" or "AW-").

- On the Installation instructions page, click Install manually.
- Copy the entire section of code beginning with:
