About dynamic sitelink assets

Dynamic sitelinks are an asset type that show automatically and allow users searching on Google to connect right from your ad to what they want to know or buy from your site. They add high-quality, relevant sitelinks to your text or video ads and give the system more opportunities to show assets with your ads with no setup required.

Note: For video ads, dynamic sitelinks only work in Video campaigns that use the “Sales”, “Leads”, or “Website traffic” goals.

Benefits

Dynamic sitelinks can boost your advertising impact and value. Here’s how:

  • They connect users to what they’re searching for on your site. They link directly to conversion-focused sections or pages of your website that promote user action.
  • They're automatic. There's no need to create a new text ad or video ad or set up a new sitelink.

Also, after you opt in to dynamic sitelinks, Google Ads can automatically provide descriptions for your existing sitelinks.

Increase your ad coverage: Complement your ads with links to specific sections of your website. There's no setup involved.

Tip: Providing 4 or more sitelinks has shown to maximize performance and dynamic sitelinks can help you achieve this more easily.

How they work

When someone searches on Google for a particular term, dynamic sitelinks may show them several relevant deep links with your text ad or video ad. Dynamic sitelinks have the same format as manual sitelinks, sitelinks that advertisers set up themselves. Dynamic sitelinks may come from a variety of sources, including but not limited to landing pages.

You’re not charged when dynamic sitelinks show. You’re only charged when users click through to your site. Learn more About assets and your actual cost-per-click.

Dynamic sitelinks only show when they’re expected to boost your ad’s performance and may show alongside or instead of manually created sitelinks. You can control which sitelinks are served by pausing or removing individual dynamic sitelinks. Learn more about How to remove assets.

Performance and reports

You can view individual dynamic sitelinks performance data in Google Ads using the instructions below.

Note: The instructions below are part of the new design for the Google Ads user experience. To use the previous design, click the "Appearance" icon, and select Use previous design. If you're using the previous version of Google Ads, review the Quick reference map or use the Search bar in the top navigation panel of Google Ads to find the page you’re searching for.
  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon Campaigns Icon.
  2. Click the Assets drop down in the section menu.
  3. Click Assets.
  4. Click the Sitelink summary card header for the type of assets.
  5. Filter by "Source" for "Automatically created".

Pause or remove individual dynamic sitelinks

If you don’t like a given dynamic sitelink that was created for you, you’re able to pause or remove it. Pausing a dynamic sitelink will prevent it from serving, but keeps it available to be re-enabled. Removing a dynamic sitelink removes it completely so that it will not be able to serve again later on.

  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon Campaigns Icon.
  2. Click the Assets drop down in the section menu.
  3. Click Assets.
  4. Click the Sitelink summary card header.
    • To pause or remove multiple sitelinks:
      1. Select the assets by clicking on the check box.
      2. Click on Pause or Remove on the blue bar at the top.
    • To pause or remove an individual asset:
      1. Select the individual asset in-line by clicking on the drop down next to the colored indicator.
      2. Select Pause or Remove.

While not recommended, you can also opt-out of all dynamic sitelinks if needed.
