In order to provide an engaging user experience, Google requires that all ads, assets, and destinations meet certain technical requirements to make sure your ads are useful and appealing. Ads must be clear, functional, and lead users to content that is relevant and easy to interact with.

Below are some examples of what to avoid in your ads.

One website per ad group

The following is not allowed:

Not supported Using more than one display URL domain in a single ad group

Unacceptable HTML5 ad

The following is not allowed:

Not supported HTML5 ads that don’t function properly or appear blank

Account limits

The following is not allowed:

Not supported Exceeding account limits for ads and other content

Not supported Excessive submissions through multiple accounts

Not supported Campaign configuration that creates an undue burden on our systems

Unsupported language

The following is not allowed:

Not supported Ad or destination content in an unsupported targeting language

Unavailable video

The following is not allowed:

Not supported Videos whose status is changed to “deleted” after submission.

Not supported Videos whose status is changed to “private” after submission.

Not supportedVideos marked live premiere.

Not supported Videos marked sponsors or members only.

Restricted access video

The following is not allowed:

Not supported Videos that are age-gated by YouTube

Not supported Videos subject to an IP claim initiated by YouTube or the content owner

Not supported Videos that are subject to Youtube content restrictions

Geo restricted video

The following is not allowed:

Not supported Videos that are not available in a country that the ad targets

Video content changed

Unacceptable video format

The following is not allowed:

Not supported Uploading videos in a format that is not supported in Google Ads or YouTube

Unacceptable script

The following is not allowed:

Not supported Using Google Ads scripts to circumvent any restrictions or limits on usage of Google Ads, or using them for any other non-business-related purpose

Not supported Using unsupported methods to access the Google Ads scripts

Not supported Excessive or abusive use of scripts, including unreasonable request volumes

Not supported Scripts that modify, disrupt, or disable any features, performance, or functionality of the Google Ads platform

Not supported Failing to comply with best practices when using scripts to read data for more than 1 million entities (such as keywords or ads) or edit more than 100 thousand entities daily
