In October 2023, Google will update the India election ads policy under the Political content policy.
Ads run by commercial entities solely for commercial purposes that feature a political figure who is a political candidate or current member of the Lok Sabha or Vidhan Sabha as defined in the India election ads policy. will not be required to submit pre-certificates from the Election Commission of India. Commercial entities running these ads can submit a letter of exemption on your official letterhead in place of a pre-certificate in this form.
Please note that even if ad pre-certificates are not required, advertisers wishing to run India election ads must be verified by Google.
