The ads.txt file was added correctly, but it still says "not found"

Hello,

I have already added the ads.txt file to my website and I have checked several times and it is working.

I checked by accessing MYDOMAIN.COM/ADS.TXT and the code appears correctly for me. But in the Google AdSense tool it keeps saying "not found". And no matter what I do, this status does not change.

What could be happening? Is there anything I can do?

And does this interfere with the approval of the website?
The file is there, working, but it keeps saying that it is not. So I don't know if it actually interferes.

I hope someone can help me.

Thank you.

If ads.txt implementation is valid, and you are waiting for approval, then browse your site and if you find you have more compliant and monetizable pages than pages you are trying to monetize, then consider adding AdSense code to more of your (compliant and monetizable) pages.

As far I know, non-existing ads.txt can not be the reason for disapproval.

Invalid ads.txt implementation can.

If you have active and approved AdSense account, try this:

Ads.txt guide > Check for updates on your ads.txt status
https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/12171612?hl=en#check-for-updates

If that does not work, then your implementation is not valid. And you'll probably want to provide URL of your ads.txt implementation - if you want help from community members.

Thanks, man!
Now I got the "authorized" status and I've found out what I was doing wrong before.

I have a few website in the same host account. So I have ONE public_html directory with many folders (for each website domain).

I was inserting the ads.txt in the specific website name's folder. Even thoug it was working and I could find MYDOMAIN.COM/ads.txt when tested in the browser, the Google Adsense always returned "not found".

So I have a different idea. I inserted the ads.txt exactly in the "public_html" folder too.

And... BOOM!

It worked!

A few hours later, I've the "authorized" status.

Thanks a lot, man.

Hope this post helps others too.
