You can monetize your blog with AdSense Auto ads. Auto ads automatically place ads where they’re likely to perform well and potentially generate more revenue.
Before you start
- Make sure that your Blogger domain (e.g., mysite.blogspot.com) is listed as a verified site in your AdSense account. For information on how to view your site list and add a new site, see Manage your sites in AdSense.
- Use a theme that will look good across different devices, e.g., Contempo, Notable, Soho, or Emporio.
- If you are using a theme that requires you to select a mobile version, make sure you select the No. Show desktop theme on mobile devices option, and use a responsive theme that will look good across different devices.
Add the Auto ad code to your blog
- Sign in to Blogger.
- In the top left, click the Down arrow .
- Click the blog you want to show Auto ads on.
- In the left menu, click Earnings.
- Under "Control how ads are shown on your blog", click your current setting (e.g., No ads).
- Select Auto ads.
- Click Save.
Auto ads will start to appear on your pages in about 10-20 minutes.
If you're using a Classic theme
You can also use Classic themes for your blog, but you won't have access to many new features such as the theme designer. To implement Auto ads in a Classic theme, you first need to set up Auto ads in AdSense and then add the Auto ads code to the HTML of your blog in Blogger.
- In the left menu, click Theme.
- Go to Edit Theme HTML section.
- In your HTML, copy and paste the Auto ad code between the
<head>
and</head>
tags. If you're not sure how to do this, see our Code implementation guide. - Click Save theme.
Auto ads will start to appear on your pages in about 10-20 minutes.
