Site-level blocking lets you block different ads for the different sites you manage. Specifically, you can customize the advertiser URL, general category and sensitive category blocking options for each of your sites. For example, you might want to block a category of ads from appearing on a children’s site you run, but allow those same ads to appear on a separate sports-related site you also manage.
You can apply blocking rules at the domain (e.g., example.com) or the subdomain (e.g., sports.example.com) level. Being able to block in this way may allow you to earn more revenue as you can prevent ads from certain categories from appearing on individual domains that you run, while allowing those categories of ads to show on your other domains.
Some important things to know about site-level blocking:
- Site-level blocking only applies to AdSense for content ads.
- Right now you can only block advertiser URLs, general categories and sensitive categories on a site-by-site basis.
- You can only apply site-level blocks to one site at a time, you can’t group several sites together. You can however apply a block across all of your sites.
- To make a site available for site-level blocking, you first need to add it to your list of sites using the site management feature.
