This article describes all the available style settings for Related search. These settings help you manage the appearance of your Related search units.
Updates to Related search style controls beginning September 4th, 2026Beginning on September 4th, 2026, the styling controls of the Related search units will be overhauled to enforce stricter vertical constraints and improve user orientation. The following changes will go into effect:
Icon standardization: Mandating standard search icons matching the unit's size and color.
Styling restrictions:
- Text and typography:
- Text styling (bold/italic/all caps) is removed from both the link text and headline.
- Link text line height is strictly set to 1.3x the font size.
- Hover styling is restricted to an underline for the link text only; hover styling on headlines is no longer permitted.
- Spacing, layout, and borders:
- Padding is limited to a maximum of 16px.
- The separator between related search terms is capped at a maximum of 8px.
- Margins are removed from the link text container.
- Related search term borders are restricted to a maximum of 1px.
- Images and icons:
- Left-aligned images are removed; only the standard search/magnifying glass icon is permitted on the right.
- Any borders or margins around the image are removed.
- The image color must perfectly match the link text color.
- The image size will match the link text size (approximately the line height).
Related search for search units are not impacted by this cap at this time, but we plan to apply similar changes soon.
