Native ads match both the form and function of the user experience in which they’re placed. They also match the visual design of the app they live within. These ads augment the user experience by providing value through relevant content that flows within the context of surrounding app content.

AdMob's native ads format enables publishers to render ads that are seamless with content, or that take advantage of app features like swipe gestures and 3D animation.

You can use this technology to implement highly custom renderings that take full advantage of the native code on Android and iOS. Native ads are no longer confined to a box like a banner ad.

Through the use of native ad styles you can aggregate native demand across thousands of advertisers.

Types of native ads

There are two types of native ads available to you: app install ads and content ads. 

App install ads

App install ads are intended to promote and drive mobile app installs. Here's an example of a native app install ad:

Content ads

Content ads allow for a more generic combination of text and images that covers a broader scope. Here's an example of a native content ad:

Use native ads

Use the Google Mobile Ads SDK to request native ads from your app. The publisher receives the ads’ fields and can render the content as they choose, within policy guidelines.

Contact your support representative for information on how to use the Google Mobile Ads SDK for native ads.

Report on native ads as you would for other ad units in AdMob. We recommend including the word "native" in the ad unit name, so you can easily distinguish it from non-native ad units. Also, we recommend using a new ad unit for every new design.
