Export Ad Manager reports

Download report results to share or process

Export your report results

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Create and run a report.
  3. When you view your report, click Export at the top of your report and choose the settings for your exported file.
    • Check Include header to display the following information in the exported file:
      • Unique, system-defined report ID
      • Timestamp of when the report was generated
      • Name of the network for which you ran the report
      • Name of the user who generated the report
      • Report date range
      • List of included metrics that are accredited by the MRC for Display, Video, and Rich Media including Mobile Web
    • Check Include IDs to include separate ID columns, such as "Line item ID", in addition to the name columns.
  4. Select the file format in which you'd like to receive the report.

Ad Manager begins downloading the exported report using the settings you defined. If prompted, select the location on your computer in which you'd like to keep the file and click Save.

Available file formats

  • CSV: comma-separated values
  • TSV: tab-separated values
  • Excel CSV: comma-separated values specifically for use in Microsoft Excel. This format can handle more than the maximum 1,000,000 viewable table rows in a table. CSV is the best way to view the entire report with all rows.
  • XML: Extensible Markup Language
  • XLS: Excel worksheet. This format has a limit of 65,000 rows.
  • XLSX: Excel Microsoft Office Open XML Format Spreadsheet. This format has a limit of 1,000,000 rows.
  • Google Drive: Google spreadsheet in the Drive account of the user requesting the export. For all shared reports, the report appears in the "Shared with me" section of that user’s Drive account. The default filename is "Ad Manager report," unless another filename is given. The Google spreadsheet format resembles the CSV export format.
You must manage your own Drive storage quota. Reports exported to Drive can only be deleted in Drive, therefore discarding in Ad Manager doesn’t delete them in Drive. Both the owner generating the export and the recipient's Google account must have the same language setting. If not, there might be formatting issues for numbers and dates.

Report export limits

The Excel report export options (XLS and XLSX) are deactivated when either of these two scenarios are met:

  • The 65,000 XLS or 1,000,000 XLSX row limit is exceeded.
  • The report contains a particularly large amount of data regardless of row count. For example, an excessive number of report columns.
