You can provide AdSense buyers with greater access to Ad Manager inventory to serve ads. This can help monetize every impression in your network and generate revenue. You can set up AdSense in Ad Manager:
Option 1: Network
Use network level when you want all or most of your ad units available to AdSense buyers.
Activating AdSense for your network shows all ad units in your network as available to compete with bids from AdSense buyers. You may manually deactivate individual ad units from being available to AdSense.*
- Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
- Navigate to Inventory, then Network settings.
- Select Maximize revenue of unsold inventory with AdSense.
- Click Save.
Option 2: Ad units
Use ad units when you only want smaller portions of your ad units available to AdSense.
Activating AdSense for ad units only shows individual ad units as available to AdSense buyers.*
- Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
- Click Inventory, then Ad units.
- Click the name of the ad unit you want to edit or create a new ad unit.
- Click "Settings" then Maximize revenue of unsold inventory with AdSense.
- Click Save.
Option 3: Line items
Use line items when the AdSense line item type is enabled for your Ad Manager network
When enabled, you can:
- Add AdSense line items.
- Target specific inventory available to AdSense buyers. In addition to targeting ad units, you can apply other targets to the line item that narrows the type of inventory available to AdSense.
AdSense competes for ads similar to Ad Exchange, but AdSense doesn't serve on mobile apps.
- AdSense is eligible for dynamic allocation.
- If you plan to traffic multiple AdSense web property codes in your network, link your AdSense account to Ad Manager.
* When AdSense is enabled at the network or ad unit level, ad units automatically serve all relevant ad types and use the optimal ad styles. This includes automatically selecting the best colors and fonts for the context in which the ad unit is serving an ad. You don’t need to manually manage styles.
