Create and manage targeting presets

Create and apply reusable sets of targeting

A targeting preset is a group of combined targeting that can be reused by any user in your network. They are typically used to easily apply commonly used targeting combinations. You can apply them via the targeting picker from:

This article is about creating and managing targeting presets. If you want to apply targeting presets, see Apply targeting presets.

Editing or deleting targeting presets

Targeting applied from a targeting preset isn't updated with a targeting preset update.

Updating or deleting a targeting preset only affects future items that use that preset—not items that previously used that preset. Deleted targeting presets are similarly unavailable for future use. Line items, proposal line items, and video ad rules that used a preset continue to use targeting as originally applied.

Add new targeting presets

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.

  2. Navigate to Inventory, then Targeting presets.

  3. Click New targeting preset.

  4. Enter a name.

  5. Select desired targeting.

  6. Click Save.

The targeting preset may now be found and used by any user in your network.

Edit targeting presets

  1. Navigate to Inventory, then Targeting presets.

  2. Click the name of the targeting preset.

  3. Update desired targeting.

  4. Click Save.

Delete targeting presets

  1. Navigate to Inventory, then Targeting presets.

  2. Select the targeting preset you want to delete.

  3. Click Delete.

Deleting a targeting preset is permanent—you won't be able to recover it once you've deleted.

Save targeting presets

While working with line itemsproposal line items, or video ad rules, you have opportunity to save or create a new preset.

  1. Apply targeting.

  2. Click Save as preset above the targeting picker.

  3. When prompted, name your targeting preset.

  4. Click Save.

The saved targeting preset may now be found and used by any user in your network. To edit the targeting preset, navigate to Inventory, then Targeting presets.
