Accessibility button or gesture

You can start accessibility apps or switch between apps with the Accessibility gesture (2-finger swipe up) or the Accessibility button Accessibility.

Step 1: Turn on an accessibility app 

To use the Accessibility button or gesture, turn on one or more accessibility apps, such as Accessibility Menu, Live Transcribe , or Select to Speak.

Step 2: Use the Accessibility button or gesture

If your device uses 3-button navigation: 

  • Start an accessibility app: Tap the Accessibility button in your navigation bar Accessibility.
  • Switch between accessibility apps: Touch and hold the Accessibility button Accessibility, then select the new app.

If your device uses gesture navigation:

  • Start an accessibility app: 2-finger swipe from the bottom of the screen.
  • Switch between accessibility apps: 2-finger swipe up and hold, then lift your fingers. In the menu, select the new app.

If you're using TalkBack with gesture navigation:

  • Start an accessibility app: 3-finger swipe from the bottom of the screen.
  • Switch between accessibility apps: 3-finger swipe up and hold, then lift your fingers. In the menu, select the new app.

If you have trouble finding the Accessibility button or using gesture navigation, ask your device manufacturer how to show navigation buttons.

Switch to 3-button navigation or gesture navigation 

Many devices let you choose your navigation option. To choose a different system navigation option:

  1. Open your device's Settings app Settings app.
  2. Tap System and then Gestures and then System navigation.
  3. Choose your new navigation option.
