How Google voice control uses your data
Hey Google voice control listens for a few seconds for a hotword, such as “Ok Google” or “Hey Google.” If it detects none, it deletes the record. No information leaves the device before it hears a hotword.
When the voice control detects a hotword, Hey Google voice control appears at the bottom of the screen to tell you that the microphone is open. A live transcription of the spoken command shows what is captured. Google receives the recording to fulfill your request and deletes it afterward. When the system detects no audio or a pause in the spoken command, the microphone closes.
To turn off hotword detection for your meeting, see Use Hey Google voice control in video meetings.
