Search in the Admin console

In the Google Admin console, you can search for users, groups, and settings. For example, find settings to reset passwords or view user aliases and team mailing lists. You don't need to be exact with search terms, just use everyday words.

About Search

  • Some types of email addresses aren't available in search results (listed below).
  • Admin console search works best in English for now.
  • Your privileges in the Admin console determine the results shown.
  • Your search results may include services that are not currently available.

Users

Search for: 

  • Display name (full or partial name)
  • Username@ (for example, christina@ or pham@)
  • User address or alias at your primary domain or secondary domains

Not available in search or search results: Any user address or alias at your domain alias (for example, user@domain_alias.com)

Groups

Search for: 

  • Display name (full or partial name) 
  • Group name@ (for example, sales@ or support@)
  • Group address  

Not available in search or search results: Any group aliases at your primary domain, secondary domain, or domain alias.

Settings 

Search for settings in the Admin console, for example, "Gmail" or "Sharing". 

Search in the Admin console

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console search box, enter in your search terms.
    At the top of the results page, you can click Users, Groups, or Settings to narrow your results.
