What is GWMME?

Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Exchange

Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Exchange (GWMME) is a utility that migrates email, calendar, or contact data from your Exchange server or mail from a Google Workspace account. GWMME can migrate your email from almost any type of mail server (including Exchange, Novell GroupWise, and Gmail) to Google Workspace.

You run the migration for your users, and you can migrate data for multiple users at once. GWMME allows you to migrate mail, calendar events, and contacts together in one migration.

About smart features & personalization

You or your users decide whether smart features in Gmail, Chat, Meet, and personalization features in other Google products can use data from Gmail, Chat, and Meet. You can configure these settings for users, and users can always choose their own settings. Learn how to Turn on or off Gmail, Chat, and Meet smart features and personalization.

Note: To use smart features and personalization after a data migration, they must be on before the migration. Otherwise, several core Gmail features, such as autosorting, do not work.
