Monitor a migration
When using the data migration service, you can monitor the status of an individual user's migration in the Google Admin console. Alternatively, you can request a domain-level report while the migration is running or when it's complete.
You must be signed in as a super administrator for this task.
First, access the Data migration tool in the Admin console:
-
Sign in to your Google Admin console.
Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).
- From the Admin console Home page, go to Data migration.
To see Data migration, you might have to click More controls at the bottom.
How to monitor a migration
Check the status of a user's migrationTo see the progress of an individual user's migration, hover over the user's Status column. For a more detailed report, click Details.
To see the current status of all migrating users, you can request a domain migration report. You'll also receive an domain-level item error report which details any items that have failed to migrate.
To request the reports:
- Click Settings
> Migration Reports.
- In the Deliver to section:
- If you want the reports to be sent to the super administrator of the domain, check the Super admins box.
- Specify other recipients by adding their email addresses in a comma-separated list.
- Click Send.
Tip: When you exit a migration, a domain migration report is automatically sent to all super administrators of the domain and the migration role account.
