Administrator setup for GSMMO

You can set up G Suite Migration for Microsoft® Outlook® (GSMMO) for users in your organization so they can import email, calendar, or contact data from a Microsoft Exchange account or PST file.
Overview and system requirementsOverview
GSMMO lets individual users migrate their own email, calendar, or contact data from Microsoft Exchange or from local Personal Storage Table (PST) files to a G Suite account. Administrators can also use the command-line version of the utility to migrate data on behalf of a single user.
Note: Only personal contacts are migrated for each user. In order for your Global Address List, including shared contacts, to be available to users, an administrator has to migrate the data first with a utility like Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS).
Note: As the platforms are no longer actively supported by Microsoft®, support for Windows® XP and Server 2003 was discontinued on December 31, 2018. Learn more.
Each client machine that runs the migration utility needs to have the following minimum configuration.
Operating system requirements
- Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit)
- Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit)
- Windows 8 (32 and 64 bit)
- Windows 10 (32 and 64 bit)
Regardless of which version of Windows you are using, we recommend you upgrade to the latest patches for that version.
Note: GSMMO isn't supported for Apple® Mac®. To synchronize a Google account with Outlook for Mac, consult your Microsoft documentation.

Note: Microsoft Outlook 2003 and Microsoft Outlook 2007 are no longer actively supported by Microsoft. We recommend you upgrade to a supported version of Microsoft Outlook.
Set up and install GSMMOStep 1: Provision your users in G Suite
Before your users can migrate data, you have to provision accounts for them in G Suite. Learn more
Each user, including G Suite administrators, must also sign in to their G Suite account at least once, to accept Google's Terms and Conditions.
In addition to provisioning user accounts in G Suite, you can also:
- Create nicknames for your users that match aliases they had on your Exchange server
- Create groups that match the mailing lists on your Exchange server
- Add domain aliases
Before your users migrate their data, you can migrate your shared contacts to G Suite so your users have immediate access to your full address list.

After you have verified the system requirements on each client machine, provisioned your users in G Suite, and optionally migrated your shared contacts, your next step is to install GSMMO on each client machine.
There are 2 options for installation.
Option 1: Push an MSI file to your users
To do this, download the MSI file from the GSMMO download page. Be sure to pick the correct edition (32 or 64 bit) for your users' version of Outlook.
You can then push the MSI file to your users with the software you use to deploy and secure your organization's applications.
Your users can then follow these instructions to install the file.
Option 2: Let your users download and install GSMMO themselves
Your users can download the EXE file from the GSMMO download page.
They can then follow these instructions to install the file.
The default location on each client machine is C:\Program Files\Google\Google Apps Migration.
Import dataPerform migrations
Run only one instance of the utility on each client machine, and run only one instance of the utility for each user.
