Confirm or change your home area

When you sign up for YouTube TV, you'll be asked to share your home zip code. We may also ask you to confirm your location via your device location permissions. New members: Confirm home area

Confirm your home area when signing up

YouTube TV needs to confirm your home area for a few reasons:
  1. Content owners place restrictions on which types of content can be shown where. Certain content is only available in specific areas, per requirements from our content partners. Learn more about viewing restrictions on YouTube TV.
  2. Your home area helps us figure out which local networks to show you. Without it, we may not be able to provide you with your favorite local programming.
  3. This information helps to determine local taxes on your membership.

Enable location permissions

YouTube TV uses your internet connection to determine your location and offer you the correct local content. If it can't identify where you are, you'll see an alert that YouTube TV doesn't have access to your location. You'll be asked—either by your web browser or mobile device—to allow YouTube TV to identify your location. Select Allow when prompted.
