What you can watch and record on YouTube TV is based on your home area. When you sign up for YouTube TV, we'll ask you to share your home zip code. We may also ask you to verify your area via your device location permissions. This is to make sure you get the right networks in your location.
YouTube TV outside of your home area
While outside of your home area, you can watch programming local to where you are, but you can’t record or watch networks local to your home area.
How to reset your location in your YouTube TV settings

Change your home area
- Log into YouTube TV on a mobile web browser or computer.
- Select your profile photo
Home Area.
- Select Update next to "Home area."
You cannot change your home area if:
- You already changed your home area twice in the last 12 months
- You aren’t currently located in your new home area
Update your current location
On a smart TV
- Open the YouTube TV app on your TV.
- Select your profile photo

- Select Update next to "Current playback area."
- On your mobile device, go to tv.youtube.com/settings/area. Allow the website to access your device’s location to update your current playback area.
On a mobile device
- Open YouTube TV.
- Select your profile photo

- Select Update next to "Current playback area."
Troubleshoot location permissions
Still having trouble? Location permissions might be turned off on your device. You can check by following these steps.
Turn location services on or off at Settings Privacy
Location Services.
