Never lose track of your favorite music videos by creating custom playlists in YouTube Music. Your playlists will show up on the Library tab of both the YouTube Music and YouTube apps. On the computer, your playlists will also show up in the sidebar. Trending playlists may be featured on the homepage of the YouTube Music app.
How to create and edit playlists in YouTube Music

Your playlists will show up on the Library tab of both the YouTube Music and YouTube apps.
When you view a made for kids content or an artist detail page, the Menu options will be different from other content. You can't save this content to a playlist, liked songs, or share it.
Playlists will default to private for supervised accounts. Learn more about our supervised experience on YouTube here.
Create a new playlist or add a song to a playlist
You can create a new playlist or add songs to an existing playlist in a few different ways.
From a song:
- Select more
.
- Select Add to playlist.
- Select New playlist or select an existing playlist.
From the side bar:
- Select New playlist.
From the Library:
- Go to the Playlists tab.
- Select New playlist.

To edit a playlist you've created:
- Select Library
Playlists, or select your playlist from the side bar.
- Find the playlist you’ve created that you would like to edit.
- To change the title of your playlist, add a description, or change privacy, click more
Edit.
- To reorder songs, click the playlist you’ve created that you would like to edit.
- Drag and drop songs into the preferred order.
Delete a playlist
To delete a playlist:
- Find the playlist in your Library, or select your playlist from the side bar.
- Select more
Delete playlist.
Collaborate on a playlist

As a collaborator on a playlist, you can share, sort, add to, and edit the playlist.
To collaborate on a playlist:
- To edit the playlist, select the pencil
.
- Select Collaborate.
- Select collaborators who can add songs and videos.
- Invite collaborators to your playlist by sharing the link.
Taste match playlist
To create a Taste Match playlist:
- Tap the Library tab
.
- Tap the New button.
- Select Taste Match from the playlist menu.
- Confirm your channel name, profile picture, and handle is visible to all your playlist participants.
- Select Invite
. You will receive a notification when a new participant joins your playlist.
- Share the link to your Taste match with friends and family (a taste match can have up to 10 total participants).
To invite a participant to an exiting playlist:
- Tap the Participants icon.
- Tap Invite people
from the People in the playlist menu.
- Share the link to your Taste match with friends and family.
Availability may differ depending on the type of channel or account you have. You can learn more about channel permission roles here.
For users with channel permission delegation enabled:
- Channel owners can create or join a playlist
- All other roles can consume a playlist (with the exception of Subtitle editor, which cannot)
For users with Brand Accounts:
- Owner and Manager roles can create or join a taste match playlist
- Communication manager roles are not eligible to create or join a taste match playlist
To remove a participant from your Taste match playlist:
- Navigate to the Playlist Page.
- Tap the Participants icon.
- Select the user avatar from the Participant Management page.
- Tap the three dot menu.
- Select Remove from playlist.
To leave a Taste match playlist:
- Navigate to the playlist page.
- Tap the Menu
icon.
- Select Leave playlist.
To delete your Taste match playlist:
- Navigate to the playlist page.
- Tap the Menu
icon.
- Select Delete playlist for everyone.
Set playlist privacy through YouTube Music
To change your playlist privacy settings:
- Select Library
Playlists, or select your playlist from the sidebar.
- To edit the playlist, select the pencil
.
- Select the playlist privacy setting dropdown, below the playlist title & description.
- Select your privacy settings.
- Select Save.
Add a thumbnail to your playlist
Notes:
- YouTube Music is a music-centered experience — you can only watch and create playlists of music videos. If you make a playlist in the YouTube main app, only music videos from your playlist will surface on YouTube Music. You can enjoy playlists of non-music videos in the YouTube app.
- There's a limit to how many public playlists a channel can create each day across YouTube Music, YouTube main app, and the YouTube API. You can increase your daily limit by gaining access to advanced features. Learn more.
