If you’re new to YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium, you may be eligible for an Annual Plan. This plan is a pre-paid, non-recurring membership. Once you subscribe, you can enjoy 12 months of Premium membership benefits until your plan expires. Below are details for eligibility.
Check if you’re eligible for an Annual Plan
To sign up for an Annual Plan, follow the steps below from a mobile or computer browser. After completing your purchase, you can use your YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium benefits on an Android or Apple device. Just sign into the account where you purchased your membership.
To sign up for an Annual Plan, you must be:
- A new YouTube Premium or Music Premium subscriber. If you are already subscribed to YouTube Premium or YouTube Music and want to switch to an Annual Plan, learn how to do so below.
- An individual subscriber. Student and family plans are not eligible.
- Located in any of the following locations:
- United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Turkey, Germany, Thailand, India, and Japan.
- Note for India subscribers: If you have a 1 or 3 month prepaid plan, you can sign up for an Annual Plan that will begin when your prepaid plan expires.
How do YouTube Premium Annual Plans work?
When you buy an Annual Plan, you pay upfront for a non-recurring individual subscription. This means your paid membership benefits will end after the 12 month period you paid for. To keep access to your benefits, you must buy another plan.
Partial refunds are not available for Annual Plans. If you purchased an Annual Plan, and need to cancel it, get in touch with YouTube Support. If you want to report a fraudulent transaction, file a claim here.

- Go to youtube.com/premium/annual on a mobile or computer browser.
- Select Get Annual Plan, then follow the steps to complete your purchase.
Sign up for a YouTube Music Premium Annual Plan
- Go to youtube.com/musicpremium/annual on a mobile or desktop web browser
- Select Get Annual Plan, then follow the steps to complete your purchase.
After completing your purchase, you can use your YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium benefits on an Android or Apple device by signing into the account where you purchased your membership. You can check the date your plan ends by going to the Paid Memberships section of your account.
How to change your membership type
If you have an ongoing YouTube Premium or Music Premium membership, and you’d like to switch to an Annual Plan, you must first check your eligibility using the info above.
If you’re eligible for an Annual Plan, you must cancel your existing membership. Your benefits will continue for the rest of your billing cycle. When your billing cycle ends, you can sign up for an annual Premium membership, or Music Premium membership.
If you’d like to switch from an Annual Plan to a Student or Family Plan, you must get in touch with YouTube Support to cancel your existing plan first. Once you've successfully canceled your Annual Plan, you can sign up for a Student Plan or Family Plan.
