Manage YouTube Kids profile settings

You can manage your child's YouTube Kids profile settings from three places:

1. Your child's YouTube Kids profile
2. Parental settings in YouTube Kids
3. Family Centre in your linked parent account's YouTube settings

Instructions for parents

You can change these settings at any time from parental settings in YouTube Kids or from your linked parent account's Family Centre.

To change the settings for your child's profile from YouTube Kids on a computer:

1. Select the lock in the corner of your screen.
2. Complete the multiplication problem or enter your custom passcode.
   1. Note: There are some device settings, such as cast and custom passcode, that you can change without selecting your child's profile.
3. Select your child's profile and enter your parent account password.

 

 To change the settings for your child's profile from the YouTube Kids app:

1. Tap Settings .

To change the settings for your child's profile from YouTube:

1. Sign in to YouTube on your computer.
2. Click your profile picture .
3. Click Settings .
4. Scroll down to Family Centre and click Manage children's profiles and features for teens.
5. Select your child's profile or account.

To change the settings for your child's profile from the YouTube app:

1. Sign in to the YouTube app.
2. Tap You in the bottom right-hand corner.
3. Tap Settings .
4. Tap Family Centre.
5. Select your child's profile or account.

Instructions for children

1. Select your avatar in the corner of your screen.
2. Select Edit next to your avatar.
   1. If you're on a mobile device, you can select a different avatar, change your name or tap Settings for more options. 
   2. If you're on a computer, you can select a different avatar, change your name and change other settings.
