Apple TV YouTube app.

My Apple TV updated a few days ago. Now when I watch a video on YouTube then pause the video. My Apple TV freezes and restarts. All the other apps work just fine it’s just YouTube. I contacted Apple support and they said to contact YouTube support.

It’s the same response that smart tv manufacturers give to it’s customers. It’s code for ...’I don’t have a clue and I feel a need to get rid of this caller’. The update made changes and they didn’t do any app test. Reinstall the app and see if that works. If not another update is needed either by Apple or YouTube to correct the problems of the first update.

i´ve got the same issue ..

I have a Gen 4 apple TV and youtube videos will no longer play- I get message "something went wrong. "

I deleted and re-installed the You Tube app, restarted the router, restarted apple tv, my apple tv OS is updated . Still no luck

I've the same problem, starting yesterday. The YouTube menu is available, I can navigate around it, but when a video is selected I get a blank screen on the left and "Something went wrong" on the right.

Two selection choices: "Send report" (which I've done about 100 times at this point) and "Back".

I've tried reloading the app, restarting Apple TV, fully powering the Apple TV off and then on, rebooting the modern and router. Is there anything else I can try?

Try these fixes

You don’t have to try them all; just work your way down the list until you find the one that works for you.

Reload YouTube and restart your browser
Clear cookies and history of your browser
Disable browser add-ons
Disable hardware acceleration
Update your video driver
Update Adobe Flash Player
Use a different browser
