Turn Super Chat and Super Stickers on or off

Super Chat and Super Stickers are ways to monetise your channel. These features let your viewers buy chat messages that stand out and, sometimes, pin them to the top of a chat feed. Learn more about eligibility.

Turn Super Chat or Super Stickers on or off for your channel

Turn on Super Chat or Super Stickers

To earn revenue from Super Chat or Super Stickers, you (and your MCN) must first accept the Commerce Product Module (CPM). For more info on the CPM, view our YouTube Commerce Products monetisation policies.

If you want to use a computer to turn on Super Chat and Super Stickers:

  1. On a computer, sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. In the left menu, click Earn.
  3. Click the Supers tab. This tab will only surface if your channel is eligible.
  4. Click Get started and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. If it's your first time in the Supers section, follow the on-screen instructions to sign the Commerce Product Module (CPM).
  6. Once you've completed all of the instructions, you'll find two options:
    • 'Super Chat' next to a switch that you can turn on or off.
    • 'Super Stickers' next to a switch that you can turn on or off.

If you want to use your mobile device to turn on Super Chat and Super Stickers:

  1. Open the YouTube Studio mobile app .
  2. At the bottom of the screen, tap Earn .
  3.  Tap the Supers card. If a Supers card doesn't surface, tap Get started in the 'Supers' section and then Turn on.
  4. If it's your first time in the Supers section, follow the on-screen instructions to sign the Commerce Product Module (CPM).
  5. Once you've completed all of the instructions, all Supers products will surface on your eligible:
    • Live streams and Premieres (Super Chat and Super Stickers)
    • Long-form videos and Shorts (Super Thanks)

Notes:

  • If a third party administers your rights, check with them before turning on Super Chat or Super Stickers.
  • If you want to turn off certain Supers, you can use a computer to sign in to YouTube Studio. Go to the Supers tab to turn off the relevant Supers.

Turn off Super Chat or Super Stickers

  1. On a computer, sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. In the left menu, click Earn.
  3. Click the Supers tab.
  4. Choose one or both of the following options:
    • Turn off the switch next to 'Super Chat'.
    • Turn off the switch next to 'Super Stickers'.
  5. In the pop-up, click the tick box next to 'I understand the implications of this action'.
  6. Click Turn off.

Turn on Super Chat or Super Stickers for your network

Allow the network to turn on Super Chat or Super Stickers

To earn revenue from Super Chat or Super Stickers, networks must first accept the Commerce Product Module (CPM). For more info on the CPM, view our YouTube Commerce Products monetisation policies.

  1. On a computer, sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Click 'Agreements' and accept the Commerce Product Module.

Turn on Super Chat and Super Stickers for Premieres

Super Chat and Super Stickers work with YouTube Premieres. If you've turned on Super Chats and Super Stickers for your channel, they're automatically turned on when you premiere a video. Follow these instructions to premiere a video with Super Chat or Super Stickers:

  1. On a computer, sign in to YouTube with your Super Chat or Super Sticker-enabled channel.
  2. At the top of the page, click Upload  or go to youtube.com/upload.
  3. Click Scheduled in the drop-down menu.
    • Note that selecting 'Public' will cue the Premiere to start immediately after the video has finished uploading.
    • Unlisted videos can't be premiered.
  4. Click the video that you'd like to upload from your computer.
  5. On the next page, turn on Premiere.
  6. Select the date and time of your Premiere.
  7. When the video has finished processing, click Premiere in the top-right corner.
